While you may need to purchase fresh produce frequently, or if you are like us you can purchase your fresh produce from your local farmers’ co-op. We actually drive up to the farm every other week and get our share of fresh produce. Now, there are many foods that you can keep on hand that will make it easier for you to make meals and plan ahead. What we do is freeze some of the produce for future use like in our homemade soups, sauces or for baking.

Stocking A Paleo Pantry Will Include:

For protein, you can stock the following: Pastured Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey, Bison and Wild Fish. You will enjoy proteins like Bacon, sausage, whole chickens, ground beef,  canned tuna ( occasionally and it must be hook caught tuna), wild salmon and the bones of the pastured proteins for your bone broth and soup broth.

Be careful when considering condiments and be sure there is no gluten in the ingredients. Some condiments, for example, Dijon mustard, Marinara sauce (jarred), Tomato paste, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Dill pickles or relish.

Healthy Fats For Your Paleo Pantry Are

  • Coconut oil,
  • coconut milk,
  • olive oil,
  • ghee,
  • avocado oil,
  • macadamia oil
  • flaked coconut (unsweetened)

You will also include Coconut flour and Almond flour. Definitely, you will want nuts like walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds and macadamia nuts.

And finally Paleo(ish) foods. Some people like to add a few other staples to their pantry. These do have some processing, so not technically part of the Paleo program.

When you have your pantry fully stocked, it becomes much easier to make meals ahead and freeze them so you can be prepared with foods that fit the paleo program.

If you can’t afford to stock everything up at once, then each time you go shopping add one or two more pantry items to your list.
